How ITLoot verifies offers
ITLoot separates what we found from whether an incentive is still available.
Three separate questions
Availability
Does ITLoot believe the offer is running now? Current, Unconfirmed,
or Expired.
Evidence
Where did we see the reward stated? A vendor page, a vendor ad, or
a reader's report.
Eligibility
Can you personally claim it? Decided entirely by the vendor.
A current offer may rest on a vendor webpage, an advertisement, or another documented source. Knowing where a reward was seen does not tell you whether it is still available, and neither fact tells you whether you qualify.
Availability
Current
ITLoot believes this offer is running now.
Unconfirmed
We have seen credible vendor evidence, but cannot currently confirm
the reward is still available.
Expired
The claim window stated by the vendor has passed.
Evidence labels
Reward shown on vendor page
We saw the reward stated on a page the vendor publishes: a campaign
page, a terms page, or a registration page.
Reward seen in vendor ad
We saw the reward in advertising published by or on behalf of the
vendor. The page it links to may not repeat it.
Payout reported
Somebody told us they were actually paid the reward.
These describe different evidence, not better and worse grades. Where a listing rests on advertising, that is a normal way for a vendor to run an incentive rather than a weaker kind of proof.
Two different dates
Reward last seen
The day we last observed the reward itself, in whichever source the
evidence label names.
Offer last checked
The day we last looked at the offer. Looking is not the same as
seeing the reward, so these are often different days and we never print
one as the other.
Availability, eligibility, and payout are always determined by the vendor.
